White Noise Full Line-up and Details Announced

News|May 31, 2010 2:42 pm

Well with only a week of the working grind to go until White Noise festival, organisers have got in touch with the Monograph to give full details and the official line-up. All of us here are all revved up for it and will be in attendance giving coverage of the weekend as it happens.

The event is the brainchild of Maybeshewill and Death Of London, veterans of the cities music scene, and is now an annual affair celebrating the wealth of musical talent that the county has to offer.

Weekend wristbands are priced at just £5 – aiming to encourage as many people as possible to make the effort to get involved with the local musical community. If that isn’t enough, all profits from wristband sales are donated to local hospice LOROS.

Across the weekend there are tonnes of Leicester bands that are making real waves Nationally and internationally – and we don’t say that lightly. Most of their home-town residents won’t have heard of them, but they’re flying the cities flag wherever the go.

Maybeshewill | www.myspace.com/maybeshewont
The last 12 months have seen Maybeshewill play sold out shows everywhere from Tokyo, Moscow and St Petersburg to Athens, Vienna and Brussels. In the UK they’re regularly touring for months at a time playing to hundreds of people on a daily basis. Not bad for a band with no singer who do everything from recording their records to booking their shows themselves. Maybeshewill headline Sunday night.

Kytewww.myspace.com/kyteband
Having played to thousands at some of Japans biggest festivals last summer, and after celebrating the international release of their first full-length album on Kids Records (The Wombats / Band Of Horses / The Whip) Kyte are becoming a household name around the world with their epic musical soundscapes. Kyte headline Friday night.

Her Name Is Calla | www.myspace.com/hernameiscalla
Regularly turing the UK and Europe and gaining more than their fair share of plaudits as they go, Her Name Is Calla are poised to release their debut Full-Length through Denovali Records. Her Name Is Calla play Sunday evening.

These Furrows | www.myspace.com/thesefurrows
These Furrows have made a biggger impact on the music industry in the last six months than most other bands will in their lifetimes. With a single out this summer through Underdogs, in association with local label ‘Robot Needs Home’, recent support slots with Fun Lovin’ Criminals under their belt, and more buzz than is usually healthy for a band, we’re expecting big things for them. These Furrows play Sunday evening.
