Summer Sundae Weekender have announced their new dates for this year’s festival, which will be Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August 2012, a weekend later than normal due to the 2012 Olympics. Set in the heart of Leicester at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall and Gardens, Summer Sundae is a major three day event providing a unique opportunity to see many up and coming acts, and having played host to the likes of Toots and the Maytals, Mumford and Sons, Amy Winehouse, Belle and Sebastian and Blood Red Shoes, everyone is eagerly awaiting the news of this year’s line up released later this month.
The biggest and best festival in Leicester has also posted an online treat this month with a free podcast of some of last year’s highlights. Working with Exposure Live and Cuttlefish Multimedia, SSW is offering a completely free 10 track playlist featuring Dark Dark Horse, Gallery 47, Humble He and many more. Summer Sundae Weekender are also keen to announce that this year they will also be taking their ticket prices right back and pegging all 2012 prices at 2010 prices. Also a limited number of Early Bird Weekender tickets will be going on sale at just £95 for an adult. After feedback from festival goers and fans, they’ve also introduced a Young Person ticket for 14 to 17 year olds priced at only £60 for an Early Bird Weekender.
