Our good friends over at Maneki Neko Records have got in touch letting us know that they are on the look out for new acts for the label. They already have some great names under their wing in the form of Phonetic Error, Solo1 and Fishcake, all of which are doing great at the moment.
Andy Jackson, known to some by his musical persona Phonetic Error, started the label during early 2010 in order to offer a home to some of the unsigned artists that he loved. The first act to be signed to Maneki Neko Records was Alternative Hardcore band Fishcake. Shortly after Fishcake signed to the label, Phonetic Error decided to make it the home for his own music, and become a part of the growing family of artists. They have just recently signed Solo1 to the MNR roster and have high hopes.
Zac from the label commented: “Maneki Neko Records is about passion over profit. We only sign artists that we like, regardless of whether we think you have what it takes to make large sales. We are open to any genre, but we are mostly passionate about Electronica, Alternative and Experimental music. We will not be signing any RnB or Funk acts. It doesn’t float our boat. We do welcome Hip Hop though!”
So if you want to push to the next level and get you or your band signed or your are just a fan of a great unsigned act in the area why not drop them a line here. By the sounds of it the label has a very promising future and would be a great opportunity for any muso’s in the ranks. We have a few acts in mind we think would be good for them and will be letting them know.
